Enrichment Classes are "fee
based," that is, they do not receive any
state funds and must be self-supporting. The
enrollment fee is based upon projected
registration. In order for a class to be a
"go," it must have a minimum number of
students registered and paid by the end of the
first hour of the first class meeting. If the
minimum is not reached, the class may be
cancelled. The administration may suggest that
the hours per class or the number of classes in
the session be reduced, while keeping the fee
the same. Fee Based classes are designed for
adults, 18 and over.
Business Soft Skills Series
These classes are designed for any student
wishing to progress in a business environment.
The instructor is a business professional with
years of experience and education. Classes may
be taken separately or in a bundle.
Body Language for Career Success

the day. This course will teach you how to

negotiating styles and terms like Options, ATNA,
BATNA. This class may include group activities.
Notary Public and Loan Signing Agent
This class prepares students to pass the state
exam and begin their own business as a Notary
Public & Loan Signing Agent. Enrollees must be
18 years of age and bring an official picture
ID.
Start Your Own Business Workshop
The workshop includes: the start-up steps for
creating a business and State of California's
requirements, types of business structures, the
importance of the business "name", home office
or rental space, accounting basics, marketing,
customer services and tax basics.
Beginning
Guitar
Learn to play the guitar and get instruction

Beginning
Modern Egyptian Belly
Dancing
This class covers simple figure eight moves and
belly dance techniques, such as shoulder arm,
chest abdominal and hip isolation along with the
proper shimmy technique. Basic turns and
traveling steps are introduced. The students will
have an opportunity to put dance steps into
combinations at the end of class.
Intermediate
Modern Egyptian Belly
Dancing
This class covers complex combination moves and
steps. Focus is on completion undulations,
vibration, turns, and traveling steps. The veil
and finger cymbals are also used. The students
will learn choreography to Arabic music at the
end of class. Prerequisite:
Beginning Egyptian / Belly Dancing.
Cake
Decorating
Learn
the art of cake decorating. No previous
experience necessary. Instruction is given
bilingually. Supply list is provided at
registration.
Accent Reduction
This course will assist the working
professional, the advanced ESL student, the
aspiring employee, or anyone wishing to be more
clearly understood and develop the correct
pronunciation of English words. You will become
proficient and self-confident in your day-to-day
conversation as you practice the sounds in the
English language.
Consumer
Awareness
Ceramics: Hand-building & Sculpture
Learn to make wind chimes, jewelry, plant pots,
dishes, platters and sculptures. Decorating
techniques, slip, underglaze, glaze and
overglaze are covered in the course.
Knitting
& Crochet
This class is for all levels. Special
teacher directed projects are offered with
individual assistance. Projects include,
but not limited to gifts, holiday decorations, clothing or
afghans, etc.
Needle
Arts/Rug Hooking
Hook, braid and crochet skills are taught for
creating rugs, wall hangings, pictures, bags,
and articles of clothing such as vests and
belts.
Machine
Knitting
Students
will learn the principles of machine knitting,
garment designing and pattern writing. This class provides the learner an outlet for
self-expression.
Sewing,
Pattern Design and Alteration
This course is designed to develop skills and
techniques in the fundamentals of pattern
drafting, and dressmaking, Students are allowed
to choose their own projects and work at their
own pace.
