Certification
tests will be given during the Microsoft Office
Lab times. Students will have an opportunity to
practice before being tested. Certificates will
verify typing speed of student.

Literacy/Windows
XP
A
basic course for those with little or no
experience and for those who have limited access
to a computer. An overview of Windows
terminology and function, use of mouse, start up
and shut down, how to use File Manager,
Internet/Outlook and basic document creation.
You will also learn how to purchase the right
computer to fit your needs.
Computer Applications
Independent Learning
/ Nights
This
program is designed for the student who is
self-motivated. Prerequisites: keyboarding 30
wpm, computer literacy or demonstrated basic
computer skill.
This
class offers the guidance of a computer as
needed in the following subjects areas:
Computer Maintenance & Repair
Basic repair for IBM/PC and compatibles, includes
computer disassembly, diagnostics, disk drive
cleaning, upgrading, installation of internal
cards, etc.
Office
Technician
Level
I and II
Prepare
for entry level and advanced employment in
today's automated office environment. Earn a
certificate by reaching competency in the skill
areas listed for each level. Students may enroll
for either level during scheduled times.
Prerequisites: keyboarding 30 wpm minimum,
computer literacy or demonstrated computer
skill.
High
School credit may be earned for this class.

Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3)
IC3 is a beginning computer course designed for
anyone planning to use computing skills in any
vocational or business capacity. The class
focuses on three main areas, computing
fundamentals, key applications, and living
online. Anyone interested in learning computing
or enhancing limited skills should consider the
IC3 class.
This beginning vocational course prepares
students to pass the Microsoft administered
Certification Tests in three areas of computer
technology: 1) Computing Fundamentals, 2) Key
Applications, and 3) Living Online.
Introduction to Teaching and Learning with
Technology
The focus is on student demonstration of
competency in using technology to enhance
instruction. Course assignments and projects
require the use of productivity tools,
presentation tools, digital imaging, internet
websites, and online learning platform
technologies. This course fulfills 50 hours of
professional development.
QuickBooks
Learn basic accounting principles including credit-debit, ledgers, balance
sheets, accounts receivable, accounts payable
and much more. Apply these accounting skills
by using Quick Books accounting
software.
Technology in the Classroom
This class will meet on a monthly basis to
explore the uses of technology in the classroom.
Topics will vary and teachers, staff, and other
interested persons ca learn how to access
technology in a short, basic, simple lesson.
Web Page Design
This is an introductory course in designing Web Pages
utilizing HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and FrontPage. This
course covers basic page structure, formatting,
linking, handling images, tables, frames,
image maps, and multimedia.
Computer Classes Older Adults
Understanding and Using Technology for Older Adults
This class is designed for the older adult to develop
basic skills necessary to operate a computer.
Programs such as Microsoft Office and
Windows will be introduced.
