The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program helps students improve their reading, writing and math. Adults can prepare for high school or GED classes, and review for tests such as the High School Exit Exam, ASVAB, and pre-employment tests.

ABE has two kinds of classes:

a lab class that covers reading, writing, and math from a beginning level to the eighth grade level
a writing class that focuses on language skills and writing essays

The ABE program serves native English speakers who need a review as well as students coming out of the ESL program who need to improve their skills before they move on to high school or GED classes. ABE classes can be a bridge between ESL and high school level classes.
