Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3)
IC3 is a beginning computer course designed for
anyone planning to use computing skills in any
vocational or business capacity. The class
focuses on three main areas, computing
fundamentals, key applications, and living
online. Anyone interested in learning computing
or enhancing limited skills should consider the
IC3 class.
This beginning vocational course prepares
students to pass the Microsoft administered
Certification Tests in three areas of computer
technology: 1) Computing Fundamentals, 2) Key
Applications, and 3) Living Online.

California Real Estate Practice
This class is required for those wishing to
take the State Real Estate License Exam. Real
Estate Practice provides the person interested
in a career as a real estate agent/broker with
basic information pertinent to the various
aspects of Real Estate practice. This class is
approved by the California Department of Real
Estate.
Grant Writing
Use the fundamentals of effective grant writing
for a small business, a foundation, a charitable
organization, or any going concern, to enhance
funding for equipment, personnel, facilities, or
other necessities.
How to Create a Long Term Plan
This session "wraps-up" all that you have
learned in a neat package. You will create a
long-term plan for financial freedom that puts
you in charge of how to best meet your financial
goals. You focus future efforts on major goals
so you can achieve them. You evaluate where you
were financially when you started the program,
where you are now, and where you want to be in
the next five years. Based on that evaluation,
you can create an unique plan that is yours to
implement, linking all that you have learned
together for success.
How to Start Your Own Business
This session guides you through the
step-by-step process of starting your own
business in California. It includes how to
create a business plan, an overview of market
research, forms, resources, and where to find
free help. The class "walks" you through the
process of choosing the best legal structure,
finding sources of funding, and choosing legal
and accounting help. You will love the easy
format and the support you receive as you learn
to create a new business. You also receive a CD
with business forms for California.
Real Estate Finance
This may be used as the required class for those
wishing to take the State Real Estate License
Exam. Real Estate Finance explores a simple
understanding of the Real Estate finance
process, from credit scoring to filling out loan
applications, to closing the loan. It is all
included in this preparatory course. This class
is approved by the California Department of Real
Estate.

Pre-Admission
Orientation is mandatory for enrollment.

orientation. A sixth grade level of
English comprehension is required along

Department of Justice screening,
fingerprinting, and TB clearance. At
orientation you will be required to
complete a California DHS238B form. To
complete this form, you must bring the

for transportation.

Students learn the theory and application of
the Electrocardiogram machine, 12-Lead ECG
operational technique and ECG interpretation,
and Detection of heart disease and other
cardiovascular disorder.

The
certificate program may be completed in
one semester. To do this, students must
enroll in all courses offered
during the semester. Students must have a
High School Diploma or GED, or be
concurrently enrolled in a diploma or GED
program.

Hospital Ward Clerk/Health Unit Coordinator
This course will provide the student with the
basic understanding of nursing procedures,
hospital equipment and procedures, body systems,
medical abbreviations, medication and
transcription of doctor's orders.
This course includes hospital training hours
at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Baldwin Park.
On-the-job training is an important part of job
placement. You will receive hands-on training in
a community hospital environment where you will
experience real life situations in the work
place. Students are responsible for
transportation.
Other requirements for the program include:
TB clearance, Student ID, and a CPR Basic Life
Support card will be required before completion
of program. The instructor will schedule a CPR
class. Hepatitis B vaccination is highly
recommended.
Medical Terminology
Acquire the ability to read, write and
understand medical terms and their relation to
the body systems, diseases and diagnosis
necessary to acquire a job in the many aspects
of the medical field.
Pharmacology
Acquire the skill and knowledge necessary to
use a physicians drug reference. Learn the
brand and generic drug names, dosage, route
of administration, side effects and the reasons
a drug is prescribed.
Anatomy and Physiology
This course Is an introduction to the human
body and how it works. Students will study the
body structure and systems and how they relate
to medical diagnosis and disease process. This
Is a necessary course for anyone considering a
career in the medical field.
Health Careers Skills Lab
Computer assisted review and reinforcement of
skills in medical terminology, anatomy and
physiology, and pharmacology. A major focus is
on keyboarding skills.

coding of medical procedures for billing
purposes. Students attaining National
Certification receive a salary that is for above
average. Prerequisites: Medical Terminology,

American Heart Association: Heartsavers
Adult, Child and Infant CPR including
choking, conscious and unconscious, introduction
to automatic defibrillators, universal
precautions, and legal aspects of CPR.
Applicable to the general public, CNAs, HHAs,
Scout Leaders, and daycare providers. 2-year
certification. (1 meeting)
American Heart Association: Providers Re-Certification
Adult, Child and Infant CPR including
choking, conscious and unconscious, introduction
to automatic defibrillators, universal
precautions, legal aspects of CPR, two-person
CPR, and written exam. Applicable to medical
students, acute care CNAs, LVNs, RNs, etc.
2-year certification. (1 meeting)
First Aid - American Health Association:
HeartSavers First Aid
This course covers single person adult,
pediatric and infant CPR including choking,
conscious and unconscious victim, auto electric
defibulator, techniques for stoppage of
bleeding, and injury assessment. Pediatric
module includes child and infant CPR.(1 meeting)
First Responder
Meets requirements of the National Highway
Transportation Safety Board (NHTSB) National
Training Curriculum and is suitable for
industrial/commercial safety programs as well.
Course includes provider level CPR, first aid,
victim transport, basics of hazardous materials,
and environmental safety. An 80% passing grade
is required on all course work and the final
examination. Attendance at the first, class
orientation meeting is required.
Prerequisites include: Completion of an
assessment test resulting with at least an
eighth grade level in English and basic math and
possession of a valid California Driver License.
Job requires lifting, twisting and manual
dexterity.
 
Food Handlers
Food Handlers Certification
This class will prepare you for the examination of the Food Protection Manager Certification
for food service employees. Guidelines of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation
for the State of California will be covered. Examination for the Food Handlers
Certificate
will be given at the seventh and final session.
Food Handlers Re-Certification
This four week course is for those who currently hold a Food Handlers Certificate
and need to get re-certified. This class will prepare you for the examination.
The Re-certification test is given on the fourth meeting.
