Acute Care Nurse's Aide
This class makes students aware of the
hospital environment. It is a highly recommended
class for those intending to move up the career
ladder. Topics include Pediatric Care,
Respiratory Care, Renal Care, Care of the
Surgical Patient, and others. Class includes
clinical time.
Certificated Activities Coordinator
This class is intended for anyone who would like
to work in long term care, senior center,
assisted living, or retirement community
surrounding. Learn to provide a social
environment for communities that require
activities for residents or participants. Topics
include the filing of proper forms, planning
activities, providing the correct environment,
and more. Successful completers will receive
certification indicating competency in
Activities Coordination. There are no
prerequisites for this class.
Home Health Aide
This certification course prepares students to
be employed by an agency that provides nursing
assistance to home bound patients. This 40 hour
course is open to certificated CNAs or students
concurrently take the CNA program.
Restorative Nursing Aide
Restorative Nurse's Aides assist patients with
prosthetic devices, aids to walking , and moving
from prone to upright positions. Restorative
Nursing Aides work with the Physical Therapy
Department. An RNA class makes students more
desirable employees and widens the student's
scope of knowledge. Class includes clinical time.

Pre-Admission
Orientation is mandatory for enrollment.
Orientation covers the program
requirements in detail. An English
proficiency test will be given at
orientation. A sixth grade level of
English comprehension is required along
with
Department of Justice screening,
fingerprinting, and TB clearance. At
orientation you will be required to
complete a California DHS238B form. To
complete this form, you must bring the
following items with you:

Certified Nurses Assistant
This course prepares students for the State
Nurse Assistant Certification Exam. It includes classroom
instruction and valuable hands-on training in a
Long-Term/Extended Care facility where class
members experience real like situations found in
the workplace. Students must provide their own
transportation to fieldwork sites.
Senior Nurses Assistant
Open to students with a CNA or currently
enrolled in the CNA program. Supplemental class
to the basic CNA Covers leadership, clerical,
basic medical terminology, being a role model
and more. Helps students to be prepared to move
up the career ladder.

recognize basic life threatening cardiac
arrhythmias. The course will provide extended
opportunities for Hospital Ward Clerks to work
as Monitor Technicians in critical care areas.
ECG Technician
Students learn the theory and application of
the Electrocardiogram machine, 12-Lead ECG
operational technique and ECG interpretation,
and detection of heart disease and other
cardiovascular disorder.

certificate program may be completed in
one semester. To do this, students must
enroll in all courses offered
during the semester. Students must have a
High School Diploma or GED, or be
concurrently enrolled in a diploma or GED
program.

Hospital Ward Clerk/Health Unit Coordinator
This
unique model program prepares students for
employment as
a Unit Secretary/Hospital Ward Clerk. It
provides students with a
basic understanding of nursing procedures,
hospital equipment, body systems,
medical terminology, medication and
transcription of doctor's orders.
This course includes
valuable hands-on training
at a local Kaiser Permanente Hospital, where real life
work situations are experienced. Students must
provide their own
transportation to fieldwork sites.
Other requirements for the program include:
TB clearance, Student ID, and a CPR Basic Life
Support card will be required before completion
of program. The instructor will schedule a CPR
class. Hepatitis B vaccination is highly
recommended.

Many of the clerk positions in the Medical Field
require minimum typing speed skills. This class
assists students in increase typing speed when
using medical terms.

insurance agency. Students are instructed in the
complexities of reading, decoding, and the
coding of medical procedures for billing
purposes. Students attaining National
Certification receive compensation that is for above

This class is open entry after each 80 hour

Psychology Technician Certification.

Advanced Placement: Introduction to Nutrition
for Psychiatric Technicians
This is an advanced placement class leading to a
Psychology Technician Certification.
Introduction to Nutrition traces the
fundamentals and history of Nutrition, how
nutrients work in your system, basic food groups
and their functions, and the care and feeding
with special diets.
Advanced Placement: Introduction to Pharmacology
for Psychiatric Technicians
This is an advanced placement class leading to a
Psychology Technician Certification.
Introduction to Pharmacology traces the
fundamentals and history of Pharmacology, common
drugs, their uses, interactions, and
administration.
CPR American Heart Association: Heartsavers
This course covers Adult, Child and Infant CPR including
choking, conscious and unconscious, introduction
to automatic defibrillators, universal
precautions, and legal aspects of CPR.
Applicable to the general public, CNAs, HHAs,
Scout Leaders, and daycare providers. 2-year
certification. (1 meeting)
CPR American Heart Association: Providers Re-Certification
This course covers Adult, Child and Infant CPR including
choking, conscious and unconscious, introduction
to automatic defibrillators, universal
precautions, legal aspects of CPR, two-person
CPR, and written exam. Applicable to medical
students, acute care CNAs, LVNs, RNs, etc.
2-year certification. (1 meeting)
First Aid - American Health Association:
HeartSavers First Aid
This course covers single person adult,
pediatric and infant CPR including choking,
conscious and unconscious victim, auto electric
defibulator, techniques for stoppage of
bleeding, and injury assessment. Pediatric
module includes child and infant CPR.(1 meeting)
 
Workplace Spanish
Workplace Spanish I
Develop communication skills in Spanish which will allow you to work effectively with Spanish speaking customers, co-workers,
clients, or business contacts. Students learn basic Spanish communication in speech reading, and writing.
Workplace Spanish II
Learn higher levels of Spanish in order to communicate at a more professional level.
