ECG TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION

MANDATORY Informational Session and Pre-Assessment – Thurs. 8/8/19

Prospective students interested in the ECG program, must attend an Informational Session and take an English proficiency exam. Pre-assessments will be administered at the Informational Session. Informational regarding financial assistance will be provided during the Informational Session.

Courses Required for Certification

Basic Arrhythmia/Monitor Technician & ECG Tech

This course is designed for those who have completed other healthcare certificate programs or who are concurrently enrolled in them. In this course, students learn to how to recognize basic life threatening cardiac arrhythmia required in critical care facilities.

ECG Technician

Students learn the theory and application of the electrocardiogram machine, 12-lead ECG operational technique, ECG interpretation, and detection of heart disease and other cardiovascular disorders.

Prerequisites:  Basic Arrhythmia; 6 additional hours to be determined by instructor

Anatomy and Physiology

Learn how the human body structures and systems are related to medical diagnosis and diseases.

Learn to read, write, and understand medical terms and their relationship to body systems, diseases, and diagnosis. These important skills are required for employment in the medical field.
