Courses Required for Certification

Hospital Unit Clerk/Medical secretary

This unique program prepares students for employment as a Hospital Unit Clerk/Medical Secretary. Students gain an understanding of nursing procedures, hospital equipment, body systems, medical terms, medications, and transcription of doctor’s orders.

Prerequisites:  Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or be concurrently enrolled in a high school equivalency program.

Fee: $660 (includes fees, tuition, materials, supplies, textbooks).

Anatomy and Physiology

Learn how the human body structures and systems are related to medical diagnosis and diseases.

Pharmacology

Learn skills and knowledge necessary to use the Physicians’ Desk Reference as students gain an understanding of brand and generic drug names, dosages, routes of the administration, side effects, and reasons a drug is prescribed.
