MEDICAL CODING AND INTRODUCTION TO BILLING

MANDATORY Informational Session and Pre-Assessment – Thurs., 8/8/19

Prospective students interested in the Medical Coding and Introduction to Billing program must attend an Informational Session and take an English proficiency exam. Pre-assessments will be administered at the Informational Session. Informational about “NO COST TRAINING” and financial assistance will be provided during the Informational Session.

Courses Required for Certification

Medical Coding and Introduction to Billing

Students learn the complexities of reading, decoding, and coding of medical procedures for billing purposes in .preparation for employment in a hospital, medical center, doctor’s office, or an insurance agency. The course includes an introduction to billing procedures and standard insurance claim forms for out-patient billing. Successful completion of the course qualifies students to take the National Certification test. Students attaining the National Certificate receive compensation that is far above average.

Prerequisites: Students must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or be concurrently enrolled in a high school equivalency program.

Fee:  $430 (includes all fees, tuition, textbooks*, materials, and supplies). Learn about “NO COST TRAINING” and financial assistance at the Informational Session.

*Students will be required to purchase three (3) additional coding textbooks for an approximate cost of $250.00. These textbooks are not a part of the regular fees.

Anatomy and Physiology

Learn how the human body structures and systems are related to medical diagnosis and diseases.

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY

Learn to read, write, and understand medical terms and their relationship to body systems, diseases, and diagnosis. These important skills are required for employment in the medical field.
