CERTIFIED MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST - ONLINE COURSE

 

This 18 weeks/288 hours online course is designed to prepare students for employment as a Medical Biller at a hospital, medical care center, doctor's office, or an insurance agency.  Students begin with medical terminology. Medical Terminology is essential to Billing and Coding. Learn medical language, terms, and abbreviations associated with the human body systems that are necessary for persons entering medical occupations. Next students will learn the complexities of decoding. Student will understand how to crate medical CMS 1500 claims, Medical Billing Software, insurance payors, and EOB's as well as post payments. Student will be introduced are instructed in the complexities of reading, decoding, and coding of medical procedures for billing purposes. 

This class uses CANVAS. Students are required to have a computer laptop/desktop devise and internet access. MAC computers are not compatible. 

 

Fee: $1,359.00 (includes tuition, textbooks, materials)

Prerequisites:   

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• At least 18 years old
• At least 7th Grade Reading and Math level
