PHLEBOTOMY
PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN
This intensive 3-week program prepares students for employment as a Phlebotomy Technician in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, or other healthcare settings. Students receive 48 hours of in-person classroom instruction covering topics such as infection control, anatomy and physiology, blood collection techniques, safety procedures, and patient communication.
Following the classroom portion, students complete a 40-hour off-site clinical externship in an approved facility to gain hands-on experience in real-world blood draw and specimen handling procedures.
Upon successful completion of both the classroom and clinical components, students will be eligible to take the California State Certification Exam to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1)
Fee: $2,200 (includes tuition, materials, and externship supervision, exam fees)
Prerequisites:
- MUST BRING a copy of High School Diploma or Equivalency that meets the State requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Minimum 7th Grade Reading and Math Level
